your MIAMI sweatshirt reads I MAIM in the mirror but i don’t think you meant it one of those tricks that light plays sometimes how catfish in a pond see the moon at the water’s surface tangible only just out of reach unaware of all the space between where light happens and reflects not quite how we thought it to be pale shadow society the aliens and atoms don’t concern themselves with star borne expressions of our social construct of night bound only to gravity and a lack of free will the greys explain regret as a choke chain collar we all wear on a walk between heavenly bodies in rivers among the halogen moonlight waves little blue waves crashing into each other silently as their sound was borrowed by the conch up against my ear fish whispers about seaweed deforestation and vanished persons still linger within echoing a little longer as the tide starts to ebb
