“That jump, my man, is called a backward acceleration bounce. You can’t move faster than 60 pixels per second. But! If you first accelerate in the opposite direction for a fraction of a pixel, and then change direction again, you’ll move at 62 pixels per second. It’s a trick I found by chance, but after a lot of trial and error I can reproduce it. That’s what I love about this game. It’s very John Cage, if you will. Teaches you to be aberrant."
